Discover New Music among our Teams Favorites – Maja

Friends are essential. Friends with a good taste in music are even more important.

I am incredibly lucky to be surrounded by people who have a great taste in music, and because of them, I have found my home among their musical recommendations. The music they introduced me to has become my life’s soundtrack. That’s the wonder of exchanging music, that it is lossless. It’s a win-win situation that enriches everyone involved. By sharing this music with you, I hope that I can give back all the beauty I received as a gift.

Open your ears, because you might discover something new!

Misa Criolla – Ariel Ramirez – Josep Carreras

A profound work of art that combines the form of a mass together with indigenous instruments used in versatile and imaginative ways. Ariel Ramirez composed this piece in 1964 and in 1987, 20 years later, he recorded this emblematical performance alongside the renowned virtuoso tenor Josep Carreras. We can hear the composer accompanying the singer on the piano and harpsichord

Venupelli Blues – Joe Venuti and Stephane Grapelli

This album from 1969 is the only recording these two violin jazz giants have ever recorded together. Most people know Grapelli for his collaboration with Django Reinhardt, but this might be his most transcendental work. This album is responsible for giving the violin a special place in jazz music

Hush – Nora Fisher and Marnix Dorrestein

Nora Fisher released this album in 2018 and this project is her attempt to shed new light on the music of the 17th century. Next to guitarist Marnix Dorrestein, they redefine the music we already know. By performing it in a new and simple way, their version manages to present these works in their purest beauty

Dvorak Cello concerto and Tchaikovsky Rokoko variation – Mstislav Rostropovich

This incredible musician and human being has forever changed the course of cello playing. Thanks to him the world got to know the cello in a wide number of pieces that were either composed or premiered by him. This album is from 1968, and it was recorded together with the great Herbert von Karajan and The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. A true jewel you cannot miss!

New recommendations are on their way
