Film soundtracks: friends or enemies?

How many times in your day to day life, you wish there were music? How many times have you wished there was music bursting out of hidden speakers when you were walking down the street on a perfectly sunny day? Or when you are about to kiss someone you fancy?

What about when you are very sad and you can almost hear the violins playing a very dramatic melody? You know what I am talking about… Imagine film soundtracks in your daily life!

YES, music is basic in our lives. We cannot walk for more than five minutes in the street without listening to music.  Imagine a 10-hour flight without music!!!

We all love films, and we all love film soundtracks. It is incredible walking out of the film theatre still hearing the film soundtrack in your head.

Today, we are going to give you four reasons why film soundtracks are so fundamental:

1. The right melody in the right moment

How significant was it in Titanic’s soundtrack? What if the beautiful melody we hear when Jack and Rose are about to kiss would have been very ugly? What if instead of a flute, a piano, and sweet female voices it would have been something else? Like a whole orchestra playing loud? Or a brass band? Ew! Not the same, the magic of the moment would have been ruined.

2. Film soundtracks make the difference

What about your favorite film, that you’ve watched thousands of times? Don’t you just feel very emotionalwith hearing the first notes of the beautiful soundtrack? Would that scene be the same without the music? We definitely don’t think so!! Imagine watching Braveheart without the incredibly heartbreaking melody of the bagpipes? Again, not the same!

3. All films have a soundtrack!

Take some time to acknowledge all the films you’ve seen and in that way, all the film soundtracks you’ve heard, and you’ll see how amazing the music is. A film without its soundtrack wouldn’t be half as good.

4. There are mistakes in some films too

For example, have you watched a film and felt the soundtrack wasn’t quite right? Too bad! Music is indeed too important to mess up with ?

Do an experiment, and the next time you watch a movie, no matter in which format, focus on the music. Imagine all those scenes that make you jump out of your sit without its soundtrack.
And do you want a little hint? There are some movie theatres that have amazing sound systems that will help you feel like you were taking part in the film.

What is your favorite film soundtrack? Write a comment on this post and let us know what is your favorite one!
Remember we can transcribe or arrange any film soundtrack for any instrument!

Enjoy and celebrate music always and all the time!
