What is a MusicXML file?
A MusicXML (.xml) is always delivered at no extra charge. This file format has become the most successful standard for music notation interchange since Midi. It’s the universal standard sheet music format. Finale, Sibelius, Cubase, Logic Pro, and more than 200 different software read it. Find more info here.
How do you transcribe music? Do you use a transcription software?
No. We manually transcribe every single note by ear. This is a music transcription service provided by musicians, not computers. Actually, there’s no possible way to accurately transcribe a piece of music using software other than a really simple melody like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. We use notation software such as Finaleand Sibeliusto write down the music and create professional looking scores, and we use midi keyboards to speed up the process. We love doing it, and practice makes perfect.
Furthermore, pretty much all of the arrangement requests that we receive require a proficient performer’s interaction and arrangement skills. There’s no transcribing software that can offer what a human arranger can do.
Who do you usually work for?
Our services are particularly popular in the US, but we work for musicians from all over the world: enthusiastic amateurs, professional concert performers, conductors, music students and teachers.
We work together with many Youtube popular pianists such as Lucas King, and we have also recently partnered with several sheet music companies. Read more about us here.
Does this violate copyright law?
No. We’re providing a service for your personal and private use. We can do any transcription for you, even if you don’t own a performance license for it, but you may not distribute in any way our work.
Which instruments do you transcribe?
We transcribe all instruments, all genres. Our musicians are all experts in different instruments and in different music genres. Ask away!

Can I make changes on the sheet you send me?
Yes, definitely. If you need any amendment we will revise it for you and improve our work at no extra cost. We do our best to make our customers happy and that includes customizing their sheet music.
What programs will I need to open your sheet music?
We will send you our work in 4 different formats: pdf, Midi, MusicXML, Sibelius, and Finale. We can also send you an mp3 file if you like. As far as the pdf goes, you can open it straight away, print it, and play your music.
You can use Sibelius, Finale, Musescore or any notation software to open the rest of the files. Midi files can be opened on Synthesia, Logic Pro, Cubase, Protools.
Do you send a sample of the sheet music before purchase?
We send sheet music samples that we have done in the past so you can see the professional format you will get. We can also send you a small portion of the song you requested for a small fee before moving ahead with the whole thing.
It is too expensive for my budget! What can I do?
We understand your concern about prices being significantly higher than what you would expect to find in a sheet music shop online. The reason for this is that we’re transcribing and arranging the music by ear and manually typing in our music notation software every single note. This involves a lot of time from our music transcribing team. We do not use music transcription software because it delivers poor results and at My Sheet Music Transcriptions we strive to provide a world-class transcription service. Let us know your thoughts and we will always find a solution.
Do you use social networks?
