Frequently asked questions

Orchestration Service

Can you transcribe a full orchestra?

Yes! There are professional transcribers in our team that are experts in big ensembles and orchestral music. We will love to transcribe and arrange orchestral music for you.

Which instruments can be included?

All the instruments that you need can be included. Just let us know the exact instruments and the number of players for each one and we will make it happen for you

How much does an orchestra transcription cost?

Our prices are based on three aspects: the density and complexity of the music, the song length, and the number of instruments. Send us an audio of what you need us to transcribe and any details you find important and we will send you a price quote. If you want further information, you can find it here

Do you send individual parts?

We can definitely include them if you need them. Just let us know beforehand so we can provide you with the best price quote.

Is there a limit of instruments?

No, there is not! We offer 100% customized service and we will include all the instruments that you need.

I would like my students to play this pop piece at the high-school orchestra. Can we adapt it?

Yes, of course, it is a lovely idea. Just let us know a few details about how you would like us to arrange the piece and we will make it happen for you. Which instruments would you like to play the lead melody and which instruments the accompaniment? What is the playing level of your students? These will help us enormously!

What about the transposing instruments?

We will transcribe all the transposing instruments in concert pitch so the transposing instruments can play comfortably.

Does the price change if I reduce or increase the number of players/instruments?

Yes, since our price quotes are based on the length, complexity and number of instruments, the number of instruments will be a decisive fact when we calculate the cost of the transcription.

I have composed an orchestral piece but I need your help completing it. Is this something you do?

Yes, of course. Please let us know all the details and indications so our team can make sure to provide you with an arrangement that completely suits your needs and expectations.

Can you make an orchestral arrangement of a song that is not originally played with an orchestra?

Yes, if you let us know the number of instruments and players we can definitely create an orchestral arrangement for you. Also, if you have any indications or guidelines in regards to how you would like us to arrange the song, please let us know so we can make sure that we adjust to your needs and expectations.

Can you make a piano reduction so we can practice with our pianist?

Yes, definitely. Please let us know it beforehand so we can provide you with the price quote that adjusts best to your needs.

We will also have a choir singing with the orchestra. Can we include it?

Yes! We can also arrange music for a choir and we will make sure that both the choir and the orchestra work together perfectly.

  • Add fingering suggestions in the most complex passages of the score to help you learn the piece.
  • Add educational large noteheads with note names.

I am a songwriter and I want you to transcribe my music. Who will own the sheet music?

If we transcribe your original music, we will not withhold any rights on the transcriptions. The scores provided will belong to you – you can distribute, share, and sell them as you wish.

How do you transcribe music? Do you use a transcription software?

We transcribe and arrange music by ear, manually typing it into our music notation software note-by-note. This is a detailed and thorough process. We do not use any music transcription software because it delivers poor results and at My Sheet Music Transcriptions, we strive to provide a world-class transcription service.

All of our transcribers are professional musicians who take pride in their craft.

Who are you?

We are a team of 40+ professional musicians, transcribers, arrangers, and composers. Our headquarters are in Barcelona, where we started our journey, but we now work with musicians from all around the world – mainly across the US, Canada, Australia, and Europe – with a strong presence in New York and London! Our mission is to spread music globally through customized transcriptions and arrangements.

We have been growing since 2011, and have completed more than 32,000 transcriptions so far. We believe a friendly customer service and a talented group of music transcribers is the best way to provide you with the sheet music you have always wanted.

Who do you usually work for?

We have an extensive and diverse clientele: from original composers and songwriters who want their music transcribed to music lovers who want to play their favorite songs but cannot find the sheet music online, and gigging musicians who don’t have the time to create their sheet music themselves.

Our work ranges from big projects with orchestras, bands, musicals, and schools to individual projects, with both professional and amateur musicians.

What we all have in common is that music is our passion 🙂
