Creating a Sheet Music Book from Scratch

This is How We Create Top-Notch Sheet Music Books from Scratch

At My Sheet Music Transcriptions, after 10 years offering top-notch music transcription services, we have now launched our sheet music book preparation and printing services.

We have developed a complete service, involving professional musicians and designers from several departments and specialties, such as transcribers, music editors, and graphic designers. This way, we can efficiently cover every step of the process, while taking into consideration any references and guidance you might have.

We are ready to take your sheet music book project to the next level! In this post, we’ll share how we make it a reality: from transcription to printing and shipping. Are you ready?

Step 1: Sheet music transcription and arranging

In case you don’t have the sheet music you want to add to the book, we can transcribe it for you! We have a team of 60+ professional musicians, who will personally take care of transcribing and/or arranging your sheet music note-for-note.

Step 2: Proof-editing and formatting

If needed, our music editors will proof-edit your work to ensure it meets the highest music notation standards. This includes a meticulous engraving process, focusing on every aspect of the score, to create a uniform, consistent and professional look, that is both visually appealing and easy to read.

Step 3: Graphic design

Once the sheet music has your total approval, our in-house Design Department will begin crafting the general book layout, including the art creation of the front and back covers, and all internal content. The team will proactively create a beautiful design, and a cohesive and professional finished product.

Step 4: Your sheet music book is ready!

Once you’re completely satisfied with the final design, we’ll proceed to merge sheet music, text, and designs into a high-quality PDF file that is ready for printing. At this point in the project, we will bring everything up to current industry standards, including general pagination of the songs and a general proof-editing of the work.

Step 5: Printing and shipping

Once your sheet music book is created, if you’d like, we can also handle the printing, ensuring it meets top-tier editorial standards. We have a printing service based in the US, so it is very affordable and of high quality, of course! You’ll receive your finished product with the same attention to detail and quality.
