Synthesia Piano Tutorials

Get your piano songs transcribed accurately into piano tutorials by professionals

How does it work?

Synthesia tutorials help you learn piano songs if you can’t read sheet music.

We will first transcribe and arrange any song into sheet music, and then generate a midi file to play on the Synthesia software as a piano tutorial.

We basically turn any song into an easy-to-follow piano tutorial that stays true to the original recording.

We manually transcribe each note one by one, by ear, as we create the piano tutorial that best suits your needs.

You will be able to import the midi file we create into Synthesia and slow it down to your desired speed in order to learn the song at your own pace.

Frequently asked questions

Synthesia

How much does a Synthesia tutorial cost?

Creating a Synthesia tutorial has a closed price of $25 USD per video. Please note this doesn’t include transcription costs.

What is a Synthesia tutorial?

Synthesia is an app that produces piano tutorials so you can play without knowing how to read sheet music. The videos display a keyboard across the bottom of the screen. As the piece progresses, the notes fall down and land on the displayed keyboard to show which keys should be played. You hear the music in realtime and can choose to slow it down so that it’s easier to learn.

You can see some examples here

How do you create a Synthesia video tutorial?

The Synthesia video tutorial can only be created once we have transcribed the music. We manually input the notes into our notation software (Finale or Sibelius), and once this is done we export a midi file. We can then import this midi file into the Synthesia app to create the video tutorial.

Can I get the Synthesia tutorial only and not the transcription?

I’m afraid this is not possible because the only way we can create a Synthesia tutorial is by transcribing the music first. Once the music is transcribed we can export the midi file and then create the tutorial for you.

Will everyone have access to the Synthesia tutorial I pay for?

No, only you will have access to the video so you can practice anytime you want. We will make the video private so that only you will be able to access it with your email address and/or YouTube account.

Is Synthesia a tutorial for piano only?

Yes, with Synthesia you can only create piano tutorials. If you need a tutorial for another instrument, you can check out our Soundslice Tutorials.

I already have the Synthesia app. Can you give me a midi file of this song?

Sure thing! Let us know which song you want to play. Our professional piano players will transcribe it by manually inputting the notes in our notation software (Finale or Sibelius). We will then export a midi file ready to be used in your Synthesia app!

I don't know how to read sheet music very well. Can you help me?

Yes, we’re here to help! Here are some of the things we can do:

  • Create a Synthesia (piano only) or Soundslice (any instrument) tutorial for you.
  • Simplify the piece to suit your level.
  • Add fingering suggestions in the most complex passages of the score to help you learn the piece.
  • Add educational large noteheads with note names.

Overall, how does it work?

1. You request a quote – Send us the music you want us to transcribe (an audio file or a Youtube link!) and give us all relevant information: instruments, timestamps, difficulty, and arrangement details.

I am a songwriter and I want you to transcribe my music. Who will own the sheet music?

If we transcribe your original music, we will not withhold any rights on the transcriptions. The scores provided will belong to you – you can distribute, share, and sell them as you wish.

How do you transcribe music? Do you use a transcription software?

We transcribe and arrange music by ear, manually typing it into our music notation software note-by-note. This is a detailed and thorough process. We do not use any music transcription software because it delivers poor results and at My Sheet Music Transcriptions, we strive to provide a world-class transcription service.

All of our transcribers are professional musicians who take pride in their craft.

Who are you?

We are a team of 40+ professional musicians, transcribers, arrangers, and composers. Our headquarters are in Barcelona, where we started our journey, but we now work with musicians from all around the world – mainly across the US, Canada, Australia, and Europe – with a strong presence in New York and London! Our mission is to spread music globally through customized transcriptions and arrangements.

We have been growing since 2011, and have completed more than 32,000 transcriptions so far. We believe a friendly customer service and a talented group of music transcribers is the best way to provide you with the sheet music you have always wanted.

Who do you usually work for?

We have an extensive and diverse clientele: from original composers and songwriters who want their music transcribed to music lovers who want to play their favorite songs but cannot find the sheet music online, and gigging musicians who don’t have the time to create their sheet music themselves.

Our work ranges from big projects with orchestras, bands, musicals, and schools to individual projects, with both professional and amateur musicians.

What we all have in common is that music is our passion 🙂
